Role description

The Police and Gendarmerie (PGE) Programme Assistant supports the ICRC’s engagement of armed and security forces (FAS) in South Sudan. He/she supports the Delegation in the mapping and understanding of the South Sudan National Police Service (SSNPS); helps develop contacts within the SSNPS; examines where the ICRC can directly assist the SSNPS in its training on International Human Rights Law (IHRL) as well as on International Humanitarian Law (IHL) training when applicable among key stakeholders, as well as helps improve access for humanitarian action.

Functional Responsibilities

O* rganizes meetings, gatherings or conferences at all levels under the direction of the FAS Delegate, PGE Delegate and/or in some cases the PGE Programme Adviser, applying relevant administrative and logistics procedures, and acts as translator if necessary.
